1930s Liverpool regiment buttons on a ghost Pocket , believed to be, military denim jacket. Possibly a municipal jacket. Selvedge denim. British military blouson.

 

In the late 1940s and 1950s, British state organizations—such as British Rail and civil defense groups—adopted the exact same military Battledress jacket pattern but manufactured it using true blue denim.

  • A veteran from the King's Liverpool Regiment working a post-war industrial job could have easily transferred his cherished wartime regiment split-ring brass buttons onto his newly issued civilian blue denim work jacket.
