An insane USAP gear bag - fixed by USAP in Antarctica, with materials they had spare, to keep the bag in service. Including zip replacement.
The United States Antarctic Program (USAP) is a government-funded initiative that manages all U.S. scientific research and operations on the continent of Antarctica. Founded in 1959 following the International Geophysical Year, it was originally called the U.S. Antarctic Research Program (USARP).

Before any participant deploys to the ice, they pass through a processing center (typically in Christchurch, New Zealand, or Punta Arenas, Chile) where they are issued their iconic USAP gear. This includes heavy-duty balaclavas, bunny boots, insulated bib coveralls, and the famous "Big Red" down parka. This survival gear is packed into the heavy-duty canvas and vinyl USAP/USARP duffle bags.
